Still pregnant, no signs of labour yet. Feeling so thankful that we have made it so far with relatively few problems.
My maternity leave started today, and as I can barely walk for 5 minutes without discomfort, I am spending a great deal of time on the couch.
I have another fetal monitoring session tomorrow - 30 minutes of listening to the heartbeat and watching my painless Braxton-Hicks contractions that are coming every 10 minutes or so.
We have a big, posterior baby, so labour is not going to be short or easy. I am planning on taking as many drugs as possible to get me through.
All in all, very happy and thankful, still in disbelief that a child will be joining our family and we are soon to be parents. We both feel that it is much more likely that I will just remain pregnant forever.

The end is in sight! Can't believe you are 39 weeks already - that is amazing! Hoping the upcoming days go by quickly for you & can't wait to hear of your little ones' arrival!
ReplyDeleteSo so so happy for you! Can't wait to see what the next couple of weeks hold :)

Good luck! Looking forward to hearing your birth story soon. Hope all goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful! But sorry bub is big and posterior. But let's be thankful for SCIENCE! You know in advance, and you know there's drugs!! Scientists are awesome! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't believe you kept working so late! Some days I feel fine, but others I'm sooo uncomfortable! My workplace wants you to stop at 34 weeks unless you have a note from your doctor saying you can go longer; I'm 36 weeks today and today's my last day before maternity leave.
I know what you mean by not being able to believe a baby will be joining the family soon. For so long I thought getting and staying pregnant was the most difficult thing in the world (and it was!). Now it feels like I've been pregnant for years and I always will be!
Soo looking forward to news of baby's arrival. Hope all goes well.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh this is getting exciting!!! Keep hydrated and stay off your feet as much as you can. Conserve as much energy as possible and enjoy sitting as you won't be doing much of it in a week or so :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm still anxiously awaiting what name you'll give your baby!!!
